Pokemon Sword and Shield: is it worth it?
By: BotW
Pokemon Sword and Shield for Nintendo Switch just came out last month, and I just have to say Wow! The game gave a fantastic twist to an old series which is daunting enough but claiming it would surpass former games really laid the pressure on which lead me to our topic: did the game live up to its hype? And, is it worth you buying it?
While the game was a fantastic success leaving many players wanting another game based on the new Galar region, Gamefreak received backlash for tossing the National Dex and only selecting very few Pokemon from former games to appear in Sword and Shield. The game does introduce hundreds of new Pokemon and whole new experiences for new players but was it worth cutting the beloved and familiar Pokemon from past games? There are a few, more subtle changes like changing appearances from pokemon like Mr. Mime, turning him to an ice type and renaming him Mr. Ryme and other Galarian spins on the game. But, it’s a great leap towards the future Pokemon games and revolutionary compared to former games.
Now, back to the point, is it worth you buying it? The changes to the franchise have been criticized for being too ambitious like basing it off an actual location might take away some of its fictional magic. Now I and another Bryan Buzz writer (Noivern) compared our different versions of the game and talked. We think the game has totally overcome its hype! In its first month of release, it has sold six million copies worldwide, and the number is continuing to grow. The game is a fantastic addition to the age-old franchise, and I can’t wait to see what Gamefreak will come up with next!

Review by: Noivern and BotW
In my opinion, Frozen II is a great movie to watch if you need to cry; the whole movie was filled with heartwarming moments and fantastic graphics, and some of the most suspenseful scenes left me on the edge of my seat. It’s not my favorite movie, but it was a great movie; nonetheless, plenty of younger watchers would definitely disagree with me. The movie didn't leave much unexplained but, it left, if not all fans, at least me, wanting another movie to be a part of the series. ***Spoiler Alert*** if you do not wish to have this movie spoiled, then stop reading; the rest of this article contains heavy Frozen 2 spoilers (but by now who hasn’t watched it?). I really enjoyed the movie. In the beginning, we flashback to Elsa Ana’s mom telling them a story about Ahtohallen. This drives the entire story and eventually brings Elsa to Ahtohallen. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end like this movie, and Arendelle is saved; Ana becomes queen at last, and they all lived happily ever after… unless they make another movie that is. In my opinion, the best part was when Elsa found Ahtohallen and the truth about the past. The saddest part was when Elsa and Olaf died,... but they both came back!

The 2020 NFL Draft
By: William Bryk
While the 100th NFL season came to a close this past Sunday and the Chiefs took the Lombardi Trophy home to Kansas City, the NFL Draft is right around the corner. Joe Burrow is projected to be the number one pick, as he is the most highly anticipated QB, and overall player, in over a decade. Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, this draft will contain all the surprises, obvious picks, and of course Mr. Irrelevant (the name given to the last pick of the draft). Ok, let’s get into it:
Round 1 - pick 1: QB, Joe Burrow
Projected Team: Prospect Rank: 2
Cincinnati Bengals Position Rank: 1
After winning the Heisman Trophy, everyone in America knew that Joe Burrow would be the first pick in the NFL Draft in April. With great accuracy and playmaking ability with his feet, Joe Burrow scored 65 touchdowns in the 2019-2020 season (60 passing and 5 rushing touchdowns). He led his LSU Tigers to their 4th national championship with 14 touchdowns in the semi-final and championship game alone. Joe Burrow will no doubt be the number one pick in the draft.
Round 1 - Pick 2: DE, Chase Young
Projected Team: Prospect Rank: 1
Washington Redskins Position Rank: 1
The Redskins need a major improvement on their defense allowing the 27th most points per game in the NFL, and allowing 146 rushing yards per game which is 31st worst in the NFL last season. With Chase Young headlining the defensive draft class this year, he has proven his worth, making a huge impact on Ohio State defensive line, accounting for 16.5 sacks and 6 forced fumbles this past year. While there are many elite pass rushers in the NFL already, come next year, Chase Young will be a part of that group.
Round 1 - Pick 3: QB, Tua Tagovailoa
Projected Team: Prospect Rank: 3
Detroit Lions Position Rank: 2
Even with a bad hip injury Tua gained in college at Alabama, he is still projected to be one of the top picks entering the 2020 NFL Draft. If Tua checks out medically, he is a perfect choice for Detroit. While Matthew Stafford hadn’t been looking horrible lately, he is for sure out of his prime, and the Lions will be looking for a franchise building QB. This year in college, Tua threw for 33 touchdowns while only playing 9 games after suffering a hip injury. If the Lions are looking to improve offensively, they should no doubt take Tagovailoa with the 3rd pick in the draft.
Round 1 - Pick 4: CB, Jeff Okudah
Projected team: Prospect Rank: 4
New York Giants Position Rank: 1
The Giants cut ties with cornerback Janoris Jenkins late in 2019, and Deandre Baker, rookie cornerback, struggled through much of his rookie season to develop. Even though the Giants are in dire need to pick up a few Offensive Linemen to protect their 2019 first round pick, Daniel Jones, the possibility of getting a top corner in the 3rd to 4th round of the draft are little to none. But in later rounds, drafting steady and consistent offensive linemen are very more likely. After shutting down the top receivers in college football, John Ross and Tee Higgins, in the college football semi-finals this past year, Jeff Okudah has proven himself as the most elite corner in this year's draft class.
Round 1 - Pick 5: QB, Justin Herbert
Projected Team: Prospect Rank: 20
Miami Dolphins Position Rank: 3
Last year, Justin Herbert decided to stay in college for one final year, instead of declaring for the draft as a Junior. This decision proved to be a stellar decision on Justin Herbert’s part. Throwing for 32 touchdowns and rushing for 4, Justin Herbert increased his draft class drastically throughout the 2019 College Football season. Taking over Ryan Fitzpatrick’s spot at quarterback will be a big responsibility, but with consistent accuracy and decent running ability, Justin Herbert will become the offensive playmaker that the Dolphins need to make a playoff run this next season.

Top Shelf Books
By: The Phantom Typewriter
This is the first of (hopefully many) articles about some of the best books for almost every genre, so there’s something for everyone to read and enjoy. There are only about one or
two books per genre, and only the more popular genres are included, so you could have a lot to read.
Action/Adventure
Summoner by Teran Matharu is a series set in a medieval world during the gunpowder age. It retains all of the old-age charms of books like Eragon, but it is a bit more modern and understandable. It’s based in a world where noblemen, descendants of the people that overthrew the dwarven government and established the kingdom, are the only ones with the ability to summon. Summoning involves forcing open a rift between the normal world and a magical one, forcing mythical creatures through and bounding yourself to them. This process causes a bond between the summoner and the summoned that bestows the magic of the other world on the summoner. The book follows a young orphan boy through his discovery of the magic inside. Eventually, he finds himself on the run from his home to discover his past and his true family. The book is a Fantasy read (in case you didn’t notice the dwarves) that includes Elves and Ogres as well. However, I’m certain that anyone who likes a good old fashioned Adventure book will love this trilogy.
Fantasy
The Wings of Fire series (14 books as of right now) by Tui T Sutherland are, in my opinion, the best Fantasy books of all time. The story follows generation after generation of young dragons, with a new cast of characters every five books. Let’s start at the very beginning. The first set of books follows the prophecy dragonets that an unknown dragon claimed would end the great war, which is the war to decide the next SandWing Queen. Three SandWing sisters craving the throne their murdered mother gave up more than a dozen years ago ignited a war involving almost all the dragon tribes of Phyrria. An egg from five of the dragon tribes was stolen to ensure the future of Phyrria and to save the land. The dragonets are kept underground for their “safety” while never knowing how they will really end the war and if their parents are even still alive at this point. This is a great book that I honestly think everyone should read. The newest generation’s dragonets adventure is still being written by the author so don’t worry, more books are coming.
Now, this one is just a lot of pictures but I think this book deserves an honorable mention for the Fantasy category. Gravity Falls Journal 3 by the maker of Gravity Falls is a great reference for the book and I love really holding the Journal in my hands after seeing the show. It holds all the knowledge the one in the cartoon had and it really makes the show come alive.
Mystery
The Greenglass House by Kate Milford is a Mystery book, but it still has that dash of adventure for those people looking for more of a thrilling book. The book is about Milo, the adopted son of Nora Pine and Ben Pine who own a massive hotel right next to a smuggler’s town. When Christmas rolls around instead of the usual loss of customers the family finds dozens of Smugglers bustling into the hotel and buckles down for more work and less Christmas than usual. The son, Milo finds a blue-tinged map he believes leads to a great treasure inside the walls of the massive mansion. He accidentally meets a little girl named Maddy who begs him to find the treasure together. It’s a quest to find treasure while discovering the great mansion’s secrets along the road. A great book to sit down with and keep you at the edge of your seat.
Dystopian
Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve is a book set in the distant future after the “60-Second War” in which almost all of America was destroyed by a weapon of their own creation, grinding the cities into dust and ravaging the country and dooming the land to be plagued by radiation. Shortly thereafter Earth’s natural resources are almost all depleted and people decided that it would be safer to mount their towns and cities on top of massive wheels and tracks. Huge cities like London and France are mounted atop giant treads and go scouring for metals and food across the earth. The number of nonmobile settlements could be counted on one hand. The great vehicles soon discover that a much faster way to gain wealth and materials is to consume each other for parts and food. After many years, Cities are gone and inhabitants of consumed towns forced into slavery or used as test subjects. If you like a good end-of-the-world book with super-advanced technology and cities eating each other this is a great book for you.
I love all these books and really enjoyed making this article. Next edition I will be adding a few categories so stay tuned for the next copy of The Bryan Buzz for more top-shelf books.

XENOBLADE CHRONICLES, UNDERHYPED?
BY: THE PHANTOM TYPEWRITER
XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 2 CAME OUT AROUND THE TIME THE NINTENDO SWITCH DID, AND WHILE SHINY NEW GAMES LIKE POKEMON LETS GO EEVEE OR PIKACHU AND SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY STRAIGHT FROM POPULAR FRANCHISES WERE TALKED ABOUT NONSTOP, A LOT OF GREAT GAMES WERE NOT BOUGHT AS MUCH OR NOT WELL KNOWN ENOUGH TO REALLY BE CONSIDERED WHEN THINKING ABOUT NINTENDO GAMES. ONE OF SAID GAMES IS XENOBLADE CHRONICLES 2. NOW, EVEN THOUGH ITS RATED T FOR TEEN AND YOUNGER CHILDREN ARE THE TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC FOR NINTENDO PRODUCTS I STILL THINK IT WAS REALLY UNDERHYPED. I ONLY RECENTLY GOT THE GAME BUT I’M ALREADY HOOKED, THE GRAPHICS RIVAL THOSE OF LEGEND OF ZELDA, BREATH OF THE WILD AS DOES THE SIZE OF THE GAME.
THE STORY IS AMAZING, FULL OF PLOT TWISTS AND CHARACTER ARCS AND I JUST LOVE THE CHARACTERS, THEY SEEM LIKE REAL PEOPLE TRAPPED IN THE GAME, THEIR EMOTIONS AND ACTIONS ARE JUST LIKE PEOPLE! THE GAME IS BASED AROUND OUR YOUNG PROTAGONIST REX, A YOUNG SCAVENGER LIVING ON THE BACK OF A TITAN BECAUSE IN THIS GAME ALL LANDMASS IS MADE OF LIVING, BREATHING BEHEMOTHS -- MASSIVE CREATURES THAT RIVAL THE SIZE OF STATES. EXCEPT IN THIS WORLD, THE TITANS ARE SLOWLY BUT SURELY DYING AND TITANS CAN'T REPRODUCE. REX´S DREAM IS TO BRING EVERYONE TO ELYSIUM, A MYTHICAL LAND ATOP A MASSIVE TREE IN THE CENTER OF THE WORLD, WHERE ALL PEOPLE AND TITANS WERE BORN. I REALLY CAN’T TELL YOU MUCH MORE WITHOUT SPOILING THE GAME, BUT I GUARANTEE YOU’LL LOVE THIS GAME AND ITS PLOT AS MUCH AS I DO.

Nintendo Switch™™, Why NOT to Buy
By: The Phantom Typewriter
While the Nintendo Switch™ made a big splash in the gaming community (as it wasn’t hard to topple a brick of a gaming system called a DS) I really don't understand why it was Nintendo's decision for the sparkly new console instead of something more practical. The Switch™ was released as a new console for “Gaming on the go” and featured international game connecting so you can always play with someone. Big catch, you can't play any online or pvp battles without wifi, something you'll notice a car is lacking. It’s unwieldy and too large to just carry around without a case, *cough cough* on purpose *cough cough* which I'm sure is an accident *wink*. In my opinion more than ¾ of the released games are just mediocre sequels. I did say most of, some games like LoZ BotW (Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild) is just a fantastic game, but come on Splatoon 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Maker 2, even a game on its third version, Luigi's Mansion 3. Honestly a lot of these games are just kind of slightly more advanced and edited than their originals. Come on Nintendo, can you give us just one more franchise? These games would be great to release on the DS so people can get a little more out of that system. If you’re going to make a system designed for “on the go” fun, maybe make it a little easier to go on the go with the system. Just to be clear there are a lot of great games you should get on your Nintendo Switch™. Explore the huge video game world it created. But it really would have been better with a more on the go type of system when the new selling point of your system is “on the go”.

Bill lives
As many may know, in the end of Gravity Falls Weirdmageddon part three, Stanley Pines erased his mind with the main antagonist of the show and demonic dorito Bill Cipher inside his mind. But if I told you that Bill still lives you, you probably wouldn't believe me. But when I say that he is still alive, I tell the truth. Let's dive in. So first after the end credits of the series finale Weirdmageddon the last image was of a statue of Bill that was real. This was Bill’s physical form turned to stone while he dove in Stanley’s mind. Then when asked about it, series creator Alex Hirsch said that the statue was somewhere in the country. Then, multiple clues were found along with voice messages from Stan. At the statues was a box with treasures. The two important ones are a voice message of Stan singing we´ll meet again by Vera Lynn. This was the same song that Bill sang to Ford Pines, Stan’s brother, in the series finale. The other item was a copy of a gravity falls journal 3 special edition with an exclusive drawing of Stan Fiddleford Mcgucket and Ford. If you put it under a black light, it will show a drawing of Bill next to Stan’s head. In his final moments, Bill spells axolotl and says my time has come to burn I invoke the ancient power that I may return. This leads me to believe that Bill lives on in Stan's mind as Stan gave Bill access to his mind in the series finale to end Bill. Although, Bill can only control Stan at night in the terms of the deal. And in the voice message Stan, after he finishes singing, he says ̈oh hey there! you found my lucky statue why don ́t you go shake its hand?¨ even though he knows Bill is a threat, he tells us to shake his hand. This isn't Stan; it’s Bill. He is trying to get a new body. Or the visitors body. But hey that's just a theory. An obvious copy of matpat or the game/film theorists outro! Alolan journalist signing off for now.
